Upcoming Writing Workshop: Queerness & Creativity
The Mood Board is hosting a writing workshop for Pride Month. Sign up now! (Discount for paid subscribers)
Surprise! I’m hosting a writing workshop for Pride Month! One of my goals for the year has been to read and learn about other writers and creatives — their practices, their worldviews, their lives. And for Pride Month, I want to learn about queer writers and how their queer worldviews inspire their writing. Maybe you do too!
In this four-week workshop, we will come together as queer writers to ask the questions: What can our queerness teach us about creativity and writing? How can we explore our creativity through a queer lens? What can we learn from queer writers and their perspectives that will inspire our own creative practices?
Each week, we will:
Read and discuss the writing and work of a queer writer/creative (Potential writers include Frida Kahlo, Audre Lorde, Ocean Vuong, Torrey Peters, Casey McQuiston)
Write around prompts inspired by them and their work
Share our writing with the group (optional, but encouraged!)
Be in community with other queer folks to discuss our own creative practices
Mondays: June 8, 15, 22, 29 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. CT

About the instructor (me): Brianna Schubert is a bisexual writer, editor, and creative. She’s the founder of The Mood Board on Substack, a newsletter and community for creativity and inspiration. She is currently working on her debut novel about a chaotic bisexual actress and often writes about identity, creativity, relationships, and self-care.
